Today I facilitated three breakout sessions with Studio Two (second grade) on sound and circuits using the MaKey MaKey and the online Scratch piano. In my three minute mini-lesson, we identified and named a USB cable, learned about alligator clips, and had a quick reminder not to shove or force a cable or wire.
The next 27 minutes was spent problem-solving, collaborating, troubleshooting, playing, and “aha”ing, as they moved through their exploration. We discussed the importance of grounding, what conductivity means, and how we can create sound through different materials.
All in the daily life of an EPiC student.
